I am making a chicken noodle soup tomorrow. I love it.
I take six organic raised chicken legs (or any chicken pieces with bones) and brown it (the longer you brown it the better it will taste, so brown it well...do not over brown though), then put it in my crockpot with enough water to cover it well and cook on high for 5 -6 hours.
About 3 hours into the cooking process, I take out the chicken and remove from bones and add the chicken back into the pot of broth.
Then I add:
1/4 Cup Coconut Oil (cold pressed/virgin)
Organic carrots sliced (about 2 cups)
Organic celery (about 2 stalks sliced)
Organic onion (about 1/4 cup)
Fresh organic cilantro (about 1/8 cup)
2 tbsp of Organic Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp. Organic Cayenne
1/8 tsp. Organic Garlic
1 tbsp. Organic Sweet Basil
1/4 tsp Organic ginger (fresh or ground)
2 tbsp of Sea Salt (I like Redmond's) Feel free to add more if the broth isn't strong enough. This is all up to personal taste.
Let this simmer for the rest of the cooking time.
At the end, I boil up a batch of organic egg noodles (made with organic flour) and strain them well. Then toss them into the crock pot and let cook for about 10 minutes and enjoy a great meal. This goes well with homemade organic wheat bread.
Please post comments, I love to hear from you!

Strawberry Jam
Okay, I just tried something and I'll have to wait a day to see how it turned out.
I took about
6 cups of organic strawberries lighlty purree'd
2 Tbsp. Organic Lemon Juice
1 Cup raw honey
I put this in a stainless steel pan in the sink, and ran really hot water in the sink (not in the pan LOL) I stirred like a mad person. I tasted really good.
I sprinkled about:
3 Tbsp. of Arrowroot powder in and whisked it. (I'm hoping this will thicken it a bit)
It is put in bottles and in the freezer right now. I'll let you know how it turned out tomorrow.
If you visit please post a comment. I like to get feedback.

Nourishing Traditions Recipes
I've begun this blog to help others who are starting this journey with Nourishing Traditions By Sally Fallon.
About 6 months ago, a friend invited me to a NT class. I have epilepsy and suffer gran mal seizures. I take phenobarbitol and lorazapam for them.
At one of the first classes, I began going into a seizure. My hubby was called to come and drive me home.
I began using the coconut oil and lots of eggs, raw milk and making yogurt and kefir. Soaking my grains in yogurt or kefir and my health is improving. It's been quite some time since I have had an episode.
I think the hardest thing for me was taking down the level of refined sugar. I found that raw honey is great, but that it makes my blood sugar go high. I dislike the taste of stevia, so I decided to try raw agave nectar, and it works wonders.
This little drink recipe helped me stay away from soda drinks with all that refined sugar and corn syrup.
LadyPoets Non-Alcoholic Mint Julep
1 1/2 cup lime juice
1 1/2 cup of agave nectar
Mix well, and add:
1 1/2 Quarts of purified water, or you can use sparkling mineral water
2 drops of organic peppermint oil
Mix well and serve over ice cubes and with a slice of lime for garnish.
This is a delicious way to beat the heat and get rid of those cravings for refined sugar laden sodas.
